Venice welcomes the art of Andrea Roggi on the Grand Canal

“I believe in an art that speaks of union, harmony, and balance. With this monumental sculpture, I wanted to represent love as a generative force—as a root that binds us to the earth and to one another. Venice, with its slow rhythm and suspended beauty, is the perfect setting to host this vision.” – Andrea Roggi

Within the millenary weave of stone, water, and mystery that defines Venice—where every corner reflects a memory and every ripple reveals a story—a monumental sculpture has found its home on the Grand Canal. Telling a story of love, balance, and the deep connection between humanity and nature, “L’Equilibrio del Nostro Amore” by Andrea Roggi has been installed in the outdoor space of the prestigious Sina Centurion Palace, in collaboration with Galleria Ravagnan. The sculpture will be officially unveiled on July 24 at 7:00 PM.

The piece, a new interpretation of the artist’s iconic Tree of Life, blends symbolic strength with visual delicacy, perfectly integrating into the Venetian setting. Just as Venice was born and continues to stand on a submerged forest—trees transformed into foundations beneath the lagoon’s waters—this sculpture takes root in collective memory, in human connection, in beauty that transcends time. It is a visual homage to what makes Venice possible: a delicate yet tenacious balance, a bridge between past and future, nature and human ingenuity.

Its roots form a circle—an ancient, universal shape symbolizing the Earth, cyclical time, and infinity. Within this essential geometry emerges a spiritual and interconnected vision of existence: everything is linked, every relationship generates, every form of love has the power to support the world.

At the center of the sculpture, two human figures—a man and a woman—intertwine and merge into the trunk. They are not merely symbolic presences; they are the structural column of the tree, representing union, complementarity, and shared responsibility.

Above them, the canopy opens skyward with a wide, flowing movement—signifying growth, expansion, and possibility. As the roots symbolically merge with those submerged beneath Venice, the crown embraces the light, energy, and vision of the future. Within the circle, the sculpture finds its complete meaning: a living symbol of the continuous exchange between what is buried and what rises, between humanity and the environment, between what has been and what can still become.

“L’Equilibrio del Nostro Amore” becomes a hymn to sustainability, to respect for the planet, to the harmony born from the connection between different yet complementary elements. It is a message that resonates powerfully in Venice—a city between sky and water, fragile yet resilient, a guardian of ancient history and a crossroads of new visions.

It is precisely within this harmony of contrasts—ancient elegance and contemporary vision—that the Sina Centurion Palace exhibits Andrea Roggi’s work. With its Gothic façade and refined modern interiors, the building itself becomes a dialogue between roots and future, echoing the spirit of the sculpture. A remarkable setting that becomes an integral part of the artwork, enhancing its symbolic depth.

“We strongly wanted this installation to be placed here, because we believe art must engage with its surroundings, enhance their identity, and offer new perspectives. Roggi’s work speaks the language of universal beauty and perfectly complements the timeless elegance of the hotel and the deep soul of Venice. It’s a project that unites aesthetics and thought, matter and spirit.” – Chiara Ravagnan, Galleria Ravagnan

“Hosting a work like “L’Equilibrio del Nostro Amore” strengthens the bond between hospitality and culture. It’s a silent signal, a gesture offered to the entire city. At Sina Centurion Palace, we’ve always believed that hospitality does not end within walls—it is also a gaze, a shared emotion, a fragment of beauty that remains in the heart of those who pass by. In this sense, the sculpture speaks to everyone, as only true art can.” – Paolo Morra, Director of Sina Centurion Palace

“L’Equilibrio del Nostro Amore” marks another important step in Andrea Roggi’s Venetian journey, promoted by Galleria Ravagnan following the success of his Amor Mundi installation at Marco Polo Airport. With its fluid forms and figures merging into the motion of the canopy, the sculpture speaks to both heart and conscience, evoking a need for human and environmental balance in an age of excess and imbalance: love is balance, and balance is the key to safeguarding the world.

“The Sina Centurion Palace is the perfect space for this work of mine. On the Grand Canal, I wanted to plant a tree that not only grows skyward but also connects, symbolically, to what we cannot see: the invisible foundations of the city—made of wood, patience, and faith in beauty”, declares Andrea Roggi.

As with every true artistic sign in the heart of Venice, “L’Equilibrio del Nostro Amore” speaks not only to those who enter the hotel, but also to those passing along the Grand Canal—to visitors in search of beauty and to locals who live the city. The sculpture stands as a gesture of openness, a meeting point between the intimacy of experience and the universality of its message. Because even a fleeting moment of shared wonder can spark a new awareness.
