The Heart of Matter. Form as a Vital Principle, the exhibition by Gianfranco Meggiato, opens on May 9 at Venissa Wine Resort on the island of Mazzorbo.

Organized by Associazione Gli Amici del Cuore di Venezia in collaboration with Galleria Ravagnan, and curated by Rina Dal Canton, the exhibition stems from the desire to create a profound dialogue between art, nature, and the inner dimension. Set within the unique landscape of the Venetian lagoon, among vegetable gardens and vineyards, the works establish a direct relationship with their surroundings, giving rise to an immersive journey of strong visual and emotional impact.

Created in bronze and aluminum, the sculptures are distinguished by their organic and dynamic structure, in which the relationship between solid and void becomes a central element of the artist’s formal and expressive research. The forms unfold as open systems, permeated by light and in constant interaction with the surrounding space.

The theme of the heart, understood as a symbolic and energetic center, runs throughout the project: in Meggiato’s sculptures, matter becomes the vehicle for reflection on the inner dimension, transformation, and awareness. Placed within the context of Venissa – a place where nature, culture, and community intersect – the exhibition takes on an immersive quality, inviting visitors to an experience that combines aesthetic perception with introspection.
