After the success obtained through the past years and the ongoing experience in Vicenza (which will end on 22nd August 2022), the art exhibition "Terra Mater | Earth and Heaven" by Tuscan artist Andrea Roggi arrives in Venice, at Galleria Ravagnan in Dorsoduro (near Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, where the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is located), in the cloister of Sina Centurion Palace and in the foyer of the Goldoni Theater. The exhibition, however, takes place also in Mazzorbo Island, within the Venissa estate, where eleven sculptures have been installed.
The exhibition is a narrative journey which describes the ideas of Maestro Roggi, about the theme of human transformation and the relationship between humans and nature.
It is particularly important, among the various works, the installation of ‘Our Roots for a New Future’ is particularly significant the installation of the artwork "Our Roots for a New Future", which was used for some of the main scenes of the film "American Night" by Alessio Della Valle, and exhibited during the Venice International Film Festival, in 2021, at the premiere of the film.
«I am really happy to return to Venice with my artworks. I love Veneto, perhaps because I perceive it very close, spiritually, to Tuscany. For this reason, being able to participate in so many exhibitions throughout the region, such as in Vicenza and in Stra, as well as in Venice, moves me incredibly» is the comment of Maestro Roggi.
The sculptural exhibition "Mirabilia Naturae - Beyond the Dark" is associated to this event, which will take place at Stra, more specifically at Villa Pisani (with four artworks) and at Villa Loredan (with three artworks), starting from June 2022. It should be noted that on this occasion Andrea Roggi’s largest sculpture to date will be officially presented: it is a "Tree of Life" over eight meters high.
This project was realized in collaboration with Ravagnan Gallery and thanks to the patronage of the Veneto Region, the Metropolitan City of Venice, Venissa, Lega del Filo d'Oro, Lucia Guderzo Foundation, Paolo Rizzi Association, Municipality of Stra, Villa Pisani National Museum.
